Why did you choose solar?

Doug's household uses about 14,400 kWh a year, so the electric bills add up. It was the first time they had seriously looked at solar. Once they saw what a system sized for their usage could do, they decided it was time.

What was your buying process like?

Doug came in through the Switch Together co-op and met with Zach virtually. Zach started with a smaller system. Once they looked at the numbers together, they went bigger and put panels on both the house and the detached garage, for 30 panels and 13.2 kW in total. They decided on that first call.

Why did you choose Centauri?

A simple process and good co-op pricing. Doug did not feel the need to shop around. As the installer for the Switch Together co-op, we are able to offer group pricing to homeowners who sign up through the program.

Is your system producing at the estimated rate?

Yes. Both the house and garage arrays are running smoothly, and Enphase monitoring shows production from every panel on both roofs.

How was the installation process?

Doug is on a co-op utility rather than Xcel, and we had his interconnection approved in just four days. Getting power from the garage array back to the house took some ground work. The crew trenched about 70 feet to the garage, upgraded the meter, installed the Enphase combiner and disconnect, and the system passed inspection.

Would you recommend Centauri to a friend?

Doug's project went from co-op sign-up to an approved, inspected system on two roofs, with interconnection cleared in four days. If your garage roof gets better sun than your house, it can carry part of the system too.
